IV. TEACHING PRACTICE

4.1 PROCEDURES OF TEACHING

When the teacher starts the discussion, I produce the art of questioning wherein students will be engaged and to be more focused on the topic. I (1) Teach (2)Do the Lecture (3) Demonstrate and (4)Assess students performance.

4.2 TIME MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZING ACTIVITIES

So, basically the time alloted for each lesson is 1 hour. With that I am making my time valuable, I need to finish everything on time and with that I organize my activities in line with the topic which students can easily grasp of things and easy for them to understood. If I ran out of time, I will continue the activity next meeting.

4.3 PROBLEM SOLVING

Time runs so fast, I got a long topic which is 2 hours and thus I only have an hour to finish everything, so what I did I make the 1 hour for the lecture and next 1 hour is for the activity. Good thing they meet 2 times a day, that’s why I easily had a solution to my problem.

4.4 CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

As a future educator I ensure that the classroom will build a positive, compassionate community wherein my students engage and be focused on my lesson. So, before I start my class I set rules so that they will be aware of things during my discussion. Good thing they follow the rules and with that we have a smooth sailing discussion.

V. SUMMARY AND SUGGESTIONS

5.1 PURPOSES OF PRACTICUM

One of the best experience I ever had for my college days. Having a program like this is one of a kind. It let us see the bigger picture in the real world. It helps us to become a good future educator. It’s a good stepping stone for us to be prepared and help us to know the length and structure of practicum.

5.2 PROCEDURES OF PRACTICUM

In this program, we have procedure during our practicum. First, You need to complete 20 hours of Observation before teaching, so we had the 1st week to be our observation week, the 2nd week to be a teacher’s assistance and the last week is our teaching. So, we are required to have atleast 2 evaluation forms to be graded and stamped by the receiving school.

5.3 OUTCOMES OF PRACTICUM

Because of this practicum, I had learnt a lot not just to be a good teacher in the future but to be a diverse individual. I learn to know different cultures, deal with it and respect it. I gain a lot, fond knowledge comes through. It’s a nice experience having my practicum outside the country. It helps you mold to become who you are as a person.

5.4 THE CHALLENGES OF PRACTICUM

So far, so good. It’s a good challenge that I took and I am very grateful I surpassed this challenged by the help of my coordinators, here from the Philippines and my coordinator in my receiving University. Maybe the challenge during my practicum is that we are staying far from the school we teach and we are not familiar of the places but I find it interesting.

5.5 OVERALL IMPRESSION

There’s no exact words how I am very grateful to experience this kind of practicum. It is such an honor to be part of this program. I am beyond blessed. This experience will brought me to a good success.

5.6 SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE IMPROVEMENT

Each of us has a room for improvement. It is in us on how to control and deal with it. No need for any suggestions because everything is well-planned and well-organized.
